Vijaykant's DMDK to go it alone in LS polls
Actor-politician Vijaykant on Thursday said his DMDK would go it alone in the Lok Sabha polls, setting at rest speculation that he would join the DMK-Congress alliance in Tamil Nadu."I am not running the party for three or four seats. My alliance is only with the people and God," he said while addressing a series of meetings in the district.
AIADMK front may split over seats
The deadlock over seat-sharing among allies in the AIADMK camp has apparently assumed crisis proportions with discontented alliance partners - MDMK and CPM - reportedly thinking of “exploring other options” if party chief J Jayalalithaa does not concede their demands.

What remains is a mere formality -- an interview at the DMK headquarters on Thursday.After calling the shots from the stands for decades, Azhagiri had been recently given a party post.Karunanidhi`s younger son M K Stalin is the party treasurer and Local Administration Minister. His grand nephew Dayanidhi Maran, the Central Chennai MP and a former Union Minister. And his daughter Kanimozhi, a Rajya Sabha MP -- 6 members from the DMK`s first family.
Smaller TN parties line up crorepati contenders
About three dozens of millionaires are in the race to Lok Sabha from Tamil Nadu, with even contenders from smaller parties showing they too have deep pockets.Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate for Karur, K C Palanisamy, leads the pack with assets worth about Rs 77 crore, followed by Congress' Sarubala R Thondaman (Rs 56.62 crore). While Palanisamy is contesting from Karur, Thondaman is trying her luck from Tiruchirappalli.
